The Winston Trio, 8/22/15

Performers: Lauren Haley (violin), Thomas Fortner (cello), David Sedgwick (piano)

This past weekend I was invited to shoot rehearsal, meet-and-greet, & group photos at a performance of Franck, Debussy, and Brahms by the Houston-based Winston Trio. The recital venue presented a low light challenge that led to a few chromatic aberrations. Certainly a learning experience. My personal favorites of my overall photo set: candids, always (and especially the awkward ones). During this assignment I discovered I'm of the perfect stature to pass through crowds unnoticed. Another discovery: toting a bulky camera around makes people think you're up to something fancy and official.

My photos of this event were also featured by Virtuosi of Houston, Alias Brass Company, & Lauren Haley Studios

Ice & Snow

Of course I’ll hurt you. Of course you’ll hurt me. Of course we will hurt each other. But this is the very condition of existence. To become spring, means accepting the risk of winter. To become presence, means accepting the risk of absence.
